Kim is an academic physiotherapist. She is a Redmond Barry Distinguished Professor & NHMRC Principal Research Fellow at the University of Melbourne. She is also Director of the Centre for Health, Exercise and Sports Medicine as well as the Director of the NHMRC Centre of Research Excellence in Translational Research in Musculoskeletal Pain.

    Kim’s research has focused on the management of knee and hip osteoarthritis with a focus on non-drug treatments including exercise, cognitive behavioural therapy, acupuncture, footwear, manual therapy amongst others. She is also evaluating different models of delivering care for people with osteoarthritis including the use of digital technologies.

    Kim has published over 360 peer-reviewed journal articles and has supervised 29 PhD students to completion.
